By accessing or using Verify My Documents ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Verify My Documents provides a platform for verifying academic documents through our mobile application and web services. Our Service includes document upload, verification, storage, and secure sharing features.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload fraudulent, falsified, or unauthorized documents
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated tools to access the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

5. Document Verification

5.1 Verification Process

We verify documents through direct integration with issuing institutions. Verification results are based on information provided by these institutions.

5.2 Verification Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all verifications will be error-free. We are not responsible for errors in verification results caused by issuing institutions.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Verify My Documents and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Privacy and Data Collection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. Key points include:

  • We collect account details, uploaded documents, device information, and usage data
  • We use Google Sign-In for authentication and receive only your name, email, and profile picture — never your password
  • Push notification tokens are collected to send verification status alerts via Firebase
  • Data is stored securely and transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers to deliver core functionality. By using the Service, you also agree to the terms and privacy policies of these providers:

  • Google Sign-In & Firebase: Authentication, analytics, and push notifications
  • OpenAI: Powers the AI chat feature. Your messages are transmitted to OpenAI to generate responses. We do not send raw document files. OpenAI does not use API inputs for training by default.
  • Razorpay, PhonePe, Cashfree: Payment processing. Card details and UPI credentials are handled directly by these processors and never stored on our servers.
  • Gmail (Google) & Microsoft Graph: Used to send outbound verification emails on your behalf. We do not access your inbox.
  • YouTube Player: Embedded video content within the app

9. AI Chat Feature

The Service includes an AI-powered chat assistant. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

  • Your messages and relevant context (e.g., verification status) are sent to OpenAI for processing
  • Conversation history is stored in our systems to maintain continuity
  • You can request deletion of your conversation data by contacting us
  • Do not share sensitive personal data (e.g., passwords, financial credentials) in the chat

10. Payment Terms

10.1 Free Tier

We offer a free tier with limited verification requests. Free tier usage is subject to change at our discretion.

10.2 Paid Plans

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis. You agree to pay all fees incurred through your account. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

10.3 Payment Security

Payments are processed by our third-party payment partners (Razorpay, PhonePe, Cashfree). We store only transaction identifiers and payment status. Full card numbers, bank credentials, and UPI PINs are never stored on our servers.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL VERIFY MY DOCUMENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verify My Documents from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website.
